Auto Upgrade Notice

← News & Stuff — Started 15 Dec, 2010

Please don't use Auto Upgrade to upgrade your forum to MyBB 1.6.1. It might work, but not properly.

I'm working on fixing it as soon as possible.

If you're wanting to auto upgrade to 1.6.1, please re-download the Auto Upgrade Feature.

You only need to replace the files. You don't need to deactivate or uninstall the feature.

The issue was with the changed files package not being inside a folder. It's been updated to resolve this issue, and this forum has had another successful auto upgrade to 1.6.1! Big Grin

A "Permission Denied" error is where the current user (meaning PHP/server user) can't create or write folders in that location.

Is the forum actually upgraded? As in, changed files are uploaded - or is there an error message? Sometimes it's a typical overwrite that it can't handle.

As for the missing tab - is the feature activated? There should be two links - a tab, and a link in the warning message on the homepage.

I was really pleased when I saw this Auto Upgrade feature and was super sad when I realised my host does not allow me to unzip files directly to the FTP.

You guys with problems have checked that you are allowed by your hosts to use this kind of feature?
