After spending most of it's life in a development basement, I'm very pleased to announce the release of the Profile System Core module. As one of the most anticipated plugins for MyBB, I know this release isn't to be taken lightly - so that's why it's going through a series of beta tests before being released 'properly'.

The beta - and final release - is open to everyone. All you need is to have MyNetwork Core (1.0 or 1.1) installed which is completely free.

What does the Profile System Core do?
The Profile System Core module does not add any social networking features into your forum. Just like MyNetwork Core replicates MyBB's systems, The Profile System Core replicates profiles, and converts them into a network-ready format. It also provides a new look for your profiles, as the default MyBB profile makes it extremely hard to introduce the networking features we're used to these days.

Essentially, the Profile System Core is a skin for your forum's profiles - but it also introduces the basics of bringing social features to your forum's own network. It won't be long before you're adding features into the Profile System (just like you add features into the MyNetwork Core), and even here on Xekko the Activity Wall is already in public testing.

This module follows the standard MyNetwork principles - it is separate from MyBB while providing complete integration. Its templates, language strings and files are kept away from the default systems, but are still customizable through MyNetwork's control panel. The only thing that isn't separate is the stylesheet. If you want to go back to your default MyBB profiles at any time, simply uninstall the module and all is back the way it was.

Installing the Profile System Core
Remember to backup your forum's files and database before installing any plugin. To install the Profile System, upload all the files included in the download to your forum directory. Then, visit the MyNetwork Overview in your forum's ACP (Admin CP -> Quick Access (on the left) -> MyNetwork Overview). If you've uploaded the files correctly, you should see the Profile Module underneath MyNetwork Core. Select 'Install Module' and follow the instructions.

If you use friendly (or SEO) urls on your forum, please take a look at the Support & FAQ to see how to integrate these into the Profile System. Before installing the module, it's probably best to give the Profile System Core Support & FAQ a read through too.

This module requires MyNetwork Core to be installed.

Please treat this as a beta test. Because of the way the system works, it completely overrides MyBB's profile, so any plugins you have for it probably won't work. I'm also expecting for it not to work 100% all the time - you might experience problems somewhere, especially with conflicts from other plugins - and in that case, please use the Profile System Support Forum, and I'll respond as quickly as I can.

Is it safe to put on live forums i take it that it is as you are using it here i just want to double check
