Xekko Christmas Party (2010)

← News & Stuff — Started 1 Feb, 2011

Saturday 29th January was the date of the Xekko 2010 Christmas Party. We thought, if everyone else had a party - why not us? Especially after this past week. We settled on a "Scrubs" fancy dress theme - based on the TV show - with each of us picking a character.

There's 3 guys who are the driving force behind Xekko. Richard - Dr. Jan Itor - is the finance guy. He's the one that keeps the books in check. Liam (aka, Burkey - or "JD") is a coordinator - he's the friendly face who goes around businesses in Cumbria and beyond getting me jobs to do. Then there's me - Turk - the workhorse who does everything from designing websites for clients to the stuff here on Resources.

As the story goes, donned in full scrubbery goodness (which are strangely very comfy) we headed into the home city of Carlisle. We went to the normal workplace (The Office) for a few drinks before casually heading to Unit, where JD happily sipped on Appletini's (easy on the 'tini) complete with cherries and straw.

Then, off to Club Rock for the Jägerbombs - paid for by the company of course. Here, JD almost got killed - and I almost got panned by a biker gang. Needless to say, several hours passed, some more infractions occured (including JD almost getting killed (twice) for leaving a girl standing), several drinks gone and several misplaced hours I have no idea where they went, we staggered home for 5am via the Crusty Cobbler.

Richard (aka, Freeman / "The Janitor") and Liam (after falling asleep in Club Rock)

Anyway, I decided to make this thread to let you all know we had an absolutely awesome night - and really, Xekko would not be here without you. So thank you, and of course, here's to 2011 (and the Christmas Party that follows).

It looks like you all had a great time - I'm hoping that this was also to celebrate successful resolution of the legal issues?

Not quite, but it definitely didn't dampen any spirits (physical or alcohol based). I'm expecting a resolution soon though, the pressure is certainly off me any way.

Haha! It was quite fun, although both my mask and surgical gloves were wrecked by the end of the night. Picking up shots is quite hard with gloves on. Shy
