When I go to to the overview page and click Core it says there are no features.
How am I supposed to enable them?

MyNetwork isn't packaged with any features - you need to add the ones that you want!

Just download one of the features (listed in the Core Features section) and upload the files, and then visit the overview. The features you add will appear in the Core panel.

Oh! I thought those came with it by default. Thanks for clarifying, I'm currently installing them
